The interdisciplinary connectedness between industries. Legal tech is rapidly growing in scale and importance, largely because it’s merging with fields like infosec and cybersecurity. The lines between “legal tech,” “infosec tech,” and “priv-sec tech” are increasingly blurred—this interconnectedness is what I enjoy most.
Over the past decade, legal tech has evolved from very niche usages of technology in legal workflows to also encompassing broader solutions, such as FOIA request software, information governance and compliance, and even incident response. This melding of disciplines is tangible proof of how technology has the power to unify and transform industries. Technology solution means finding the most innovative way to tackle optimization.
Early in my career, I worked in finance and accounting, but even then, I embraced technology because I recognized it as the ultimate tool for optimization, improvement, and success. Whether it’s about optimizing billed hours to turn losses into profits or securing compromised data after a cyber incident, I find that technology innovation has always been the most reliable way to solve complex challenges.
Legal Tech expansion demonstrates how technological innovations in one field can be repurposed for other use cases, driving success while creating ripple effects that elevate entire industries. Lean into innovation and the results will raise tides that lift all ships.
